Fine Art Photography: Beyond Digital

"Kuskov House" was selected to be among 17 juried pieces for this show. The exhibit runs March 5 - April 25 2010 at the Petaluma Arts Center. The Opening Reception is Saturday March 13, 4-7 pm. “Kuskov House” is the center panel of the “Fort Ross Triptych”.

Fort Ross is a restored 19th century Russian fortification on the coast of Sonoma County. This image of the Kuskov House was taken through the antique crown glass window of one of the restored Fort Ross buildings with the camera focus on the glass and a shallow depth of field. It evokes a view of the world that must have been quite familiar to the early settlers of Sonoma County.

“Kuskov House” is the middle panel of the Fort Ross Triptych. The other two panels in the tryptich are “The Blockhouse” and “The Chapel”. Each of the three panels is a digital photograph printed on watercolor paper. There are still a few copies of The Triptych available, priced at $2000. Please contact me if you are interested.
